Synopsis
Saichi “Immortal” Sugimoto, a soldier of the Russo-Japanese War, makes do with a meagre living in the Hokkaido wilderness during the postwar gold rush in the early 20th century. He embarks on a perilous search to find it after finding a map to a wealth in hidden Ainu gold. But Sugimoto is not the only one who is fascinated; everyone who hears about the gold would do anything to get their hands on it! Sugimoto will need all of his abilities and luck—as well as the assistance of an Ainu girl named Asirpa—to live when he is confronted with the harsh circumstances of the northern tundra, cunning crooks, and renegade Japanese troops.
