Synopsis

A large demon fox had invaded the Hidden Leaf Village before Naruto was even born. The monster was bound within the newborn Naruto by a man called as the 4th Hokage, forcing him to inadvertently grow up despised by his fellow villagers.

Naruto pursues the position of Hokage, the most powerful ninja in his community, despite his lack of skill in several ninjutsu disciplines. With the help of his pals Sasuke, Sakura, and mentor Kakashi, Naruto pursues his ambition while enduring the numerous challenges and struggles inherent in becoming a ninja. Naruto longs for the recognition he was never given.

Naruto has sold over 250 million copies worldwide as of 2020, making it the 4th highest grossing manga series of all time. It was nominated for the 19th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2014, and in the same year Masashi Kishimoto was awarded Rookie of the Year in the media fine arts category by Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs.
