Synopsis
Unflappable Otaku Naofumi Iwatani, who spends his days reading manga and playing video games, is unexpectedly transported to a parallel reality! He learns that he is one of four heroes who have been given legendary weapons and are entrusted with preventing the end of the world as it is predicted to occur.
All is not as it appears, especially for the Shield Hero, the weakest of the heroes. Soon, Naofumi is abandoned, destitute, and betrayed. He is left with nothing but his shield since he has nowhere to flee and no one to turn to. Naofumi must now ascend in order to become the fabled Shield Hero and save the planet!
