Boruto: Naruto the Movie

“Boruto: Naruto the Movie” is an anime film set in the same universe as the popular “Naruto” series, created by Masashi Kishimoto. It takes place several years after the events of the original series and focuses on the next generation of ninja, with Naruto Uzumaki now serving as the Seventh Hokage of Konohagakure.

The movie begins with the introduction of Boruto Uzumaki, Naruto’s son, who struggles to gain his father’s attention and recognition as he feels neglected due to Naruto’s busy schedule as Hokage. Boruto also bears resentment toward his father for missing important events in his life. Despite his frustrations, Boruto admires Sasuke Uchiha, Naruto’s former rival and friend, and seeks his guidance.

The story takes a thrilling turn when a mysterious villain named Momoshiki Otsutsuki and his partner, Kinshiki Otsutsuki, appear with plans to capture Naruto. The Otsutsuki clan is a group of powerful beings who feed on chakra and seek to harvest it from powerful individuals. As the threat escalates, Naruto and the other ninja face a formidable enemy that proves difficult to defeat.

During the ensuing battles, Boruto discovers a unique power within himself called the Jougan, an ocular technique that grants him extraordinary abilities to perceive chakra and dimensions. With his newfound power, Boruto becomes a key player in the fight against Momoshiki and Kinshiki.

Throughout the movie, Boruto’s growth as a character is explored, as he learns valuable lessons about the importance of his father’s role as Hokage and the sacrifices Naruto has made to protect the village. Boruto also develops a deeper understanding of the values his father upholds, such as protecting loved ones and working hard to achieve one’s dreams.

The movie showcases several pivotal moments, including intense battles and emotional encounters. One of the most significant moments occurs when Boruto’s arm gets trapped in Momoshiki’s shadow, leaving him unable to move. Naruto, realizing the danger his son is in, sacrifices himself to save Boruto, resulting in a powerful father-son moment and a display of Naruto’s unwavering love for his family.

Boruto: Naruto the Movie is officially the highest grossing feature film in the entire Naruto franchise, and was number 11 on Japan’s Top Grossing Domestic Movies of 2015. This is the first time that original creator Masashi Kishimoto has written the entire screenplay for a Naruto movie.
