The story begins when Conan, along with his friends from the Detective Boys and the famous detective Kogoro Mori, visits Kyoto for a historical parade called the Aoi Festival. However, amidst the festivities, a valuable gem known as the Yamatai Crown, which is a symbol of the city’s history and culture, goes missing. Conan suspects foul play and vows to solve the mystery behind the theft.
Conan’s investigation leads him to a mysterious woman named Yoko Okino, who is a professional singer and also happens to be a close friend of Ran Mouri, Conan’s childhood friend. Yoko reveals that she received a threatening letter from an unknown person, which coerces her into stealing the Yamatai Crown during the parade. Conan realizes that Yoko is being manipulated and decides to protect her while uncovering the true culprit.
As Conan delves deeper into the case, he discovers a connection between the Yamatai Crown and an ancient treasure hidden in Kyoto, said to grant immortality. The treasure is believed to be connected to a centuries-old legend involving two rival samurai clans, the Genji and the Heike. The Genji clan supposedly possesses a map that leads to the treasure, and it becomes the key to unraveling the mystery.
During his investigation, Conan encounters various characters, including the Kansuke Yamato, a descendant of the Genji clan, who assists him in deciphering the clues and understanding the history behind the treasure. Together, they race against time to find the hidden treasure, prevent further crimes, and save Yoko from becoming a pawn in someone else’s scheme.
