The story begins with Conan, along with his friends from the Junior Detective League, attending a ceremonial launch of Japan’s newest and most advanced military submarine, the Aegis Destroyer Izumo. During the event, Conan encounters an intriguing woman named Nanami Fuji, who claims to be the captain’s fiancee. However, Conan becomes suspicious of her true intentions as he notices her talking to someone secretly.
While aboard the submarine, Conan discovers a cryptic message in Morse code, warning of an impending terrorist attack on the Aegis Destroyer Izumo. With his deductive skills, he quickly deciphers the message but is unable to prevent the submarine from being taken over by a group of terrorists known as the Red Siamese Cats. The group’s leader, Chiharu Matsubara, demands a hefty ransom from the Japanese government in exchange for the release of the submarine and its crew.
Conan, being the resourceful detective he is, realizes that there is more to the situation than meets the eye. He suspects that the terrorists have a hidden agenda and must work swiftly to uncover their true motives while devising a plan to save everyone on board. Alongside his loyal friends and allies, including his childhood friend and love interest Ran Mouri, Conan begins his investigation within the confined quarters of the submarine.
