Detective Conan Movie 23: The Fist of Blue Sapphire

The story begins with a luxurious cruise ship called the “Sapphire Queen” making its maiden voyage from Singapore to Japan. The cruise ship carries a precious gem known as the “Blue Sapphire,” rumored to have supernatural powers. However, a mysterious figure known as “The Sapphire Shogun” plans to steal the gem, putting everyone on board at risk.

Conan, along with his friend and love interest, Ran Mouri, and his rival, the famous Phantom Thief Kid, find themselves on the same ship. As Conan investigates the imminent heist, he uncovers a series of interconnected events involving an international smuggling ring, hidden identities, and a legendary pirate treasure.

During the voyage, Conan encounters a diverse cast of characters, including the ship’s captain, Yamato Kansuke, a professional karate fighter, Makoto Kyogoku, and his sister, Natsumi. As Conan digs deeper into the case, he learns that Makoto’s sister has a mysterious connection to the Blue Sapphire.

Meanwhile, a renowned British archaeologist, Dr. Alan Richmond, and his daughter, Rachel, are also on board the ship. Together, Conan and his allies race against time to protect the gem and unravel the truth behind its legendary powers.

As the movie progresses, the stakes continue to rise. Conan faces multiple threats, including the Sapphire Shogun’s henchmen and a skilled karate master named Chiba. Alongside Ran, Kid, and his loyal detective friends from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, Conan must navigate treacherous waters, engage in intense battles, and use his exceptional deduction skills to outwit the cunning criminals.

Ultimately, Conan discovers that the Blue Sapphire is not only a precious gem but also a key to a hidden treasure buried beneath the sea. With the fate of the ship and its passengers hanging in the balance, Conan must uncover the truth and stop the villains before they achieve their sinister goals.

As of 7 July 2019, the film has grossed ¥9.1 billion ($82,409,621) domestically, making it one of the top 50 highest-grossing films ever in Japan. The Fist of Blue Sapphire became the highest-grossing Detective Conan film, surpassing Zero the Enforcer.
