Overlord Movie 1: The Undead King

In the world of Yggdrasil, an immersive virtual reality game, a powerful guild known as Ainz Ooal Gown stands as one of the most renowned groups of players. Momonga, a dedicated gamer and the guild’s leader, finds himself trapped within the game’s servers after it unexpectedly shuts down. However, instead of being logged out, Momonga is transported into the body of his in-game avatar, an immensely powerful skeletal sorcerer named Ainz Ooal Gown.

Confused but determined, Momonga sets out to explore this new reality, now transformed into the dark fantasy realm of his guild’s creation. With the NPCs (non-playable characters) of his guild’s stronghold, the Great Tomb of Nazarick, coming to life and acting with their own personalities, Momonga adopts his new role as the supreme ruler, the Undead King.

As the ruler of Nazarick, Ainz Ooal Gown sets forth to establish his dominance in this unfamiliar world. Drawing upon his vast knowledge of the game mechanics, Momonga plans to learn about this new world, its inhabitants, and the mysterious forces at work. Alongside his loyal guardians, including the mighty warrior Albedo, the enigmatic strategist Demiurge, and the empathetic but deadly Shalltear Bloodfallen, Ainz Ooal Gown seeks to conquer and protect the Great Tomb of Nazarick at all costs.

Throughout his journey, Ainz encounters numerous factions, each with their own agendas and power struggles. From the ambitious adventurers of the Swords of Darkness to the treacherous Six Arms, Momonga’s actions as the Undead King reshape the political landscape of the world. As his power and influence grow, so too does the weight of responsibility and the struggle to maintain his humanity amidst the growing darkness within him.

Facing challenges from both external threats and internal dilemmas, Ainz Ooal Gown is forced to make difficult choices that will shape the course of his reign. In his pursuit of knowledge and power, he delves into forbidden magics and unravels ancient mysteries, all while battling against the prejudices and fears of those who view him as an undead abomination.
