The season opens with Yukihira Soma and his peers returning to Totsuki Academy after successfully surviving the fierce Autumn Elections. However, they soon discover that the academy has undergone a major transformation under the sinister influence of the Central Gourmet Organization, led by the authoritative and rigid Azami Nakiri.

Azami aims to revolutionize Totsuki Academy by enforcing a strict ideology that suppresses individual creativity and innovation. He challenges the traditional notion of cooking by imposing his own doctrine upon the students, known as “The Regiment of the Elite Ten.”

As the students grapple with this new regime, Soma, alongside his loyal friends, Megumi Tadokoro, Takumi Aldini, and Erina Nakiri, decide to take a stand against Azami’s oppressive rule. They form the Rebel Alliance, determined to reclaim the academy’s spirit of culinary excellence and freedom.

The Rebel Alliance faces numerous challenges as they participate in the heated Team Shokugeki, an intense cooking battle, against the members of the Elite Ten Council. With their friendships and culinary skills put to the test, Soma and his allies must overcome each opponent’s unique cooking style, tactical expertise, and unwavering loyalty to Azami.

Throughout the season, Soma’s character undergoes significant growth. He not only hones his culinary skills but also learns the importance of cooperation, adaptation, and understanding the diverse range of culinary philosophies. His interactions with fellow Rebel Alliance members and the Elite Ten members, including Rindo Kobayashi, Eishi Tsukasa, and Satoshi Isshiki, offer profound insights into the world of gourmet cuisine.
