Synopsis
Everyone has gone through a phase in their lives where they believed they were unique and distinguished from the vast majority of other people. They may even go so far as to believe they possess supernatural abilities or that they are descended from a fantastical world. This “disease” is called “chuunibyou” and is frequently the cause of some of the most humiliating experiences in a person’s life.
The scars that his chuunibyou has left behind are still recent for Yuuta Togashi. He looks back on his middle school years when he pretended to be the “Dark Flame Master” with a great deal of shame, to the point that he intends to enrol in a high school far away where no one would recognise him. He wants to have a typical high school life and wants to put his troubled past behind him.
Unfortunately, Rikka Takanashi, a new classmate of Yuuta’s and a self-described “vessel of the Wicked Eye,” shows that he hasn’t yet moved on from his past. His vision of a regular, chuunibyou-free life swiftly disintegrates when this odd young girl bursts into Yuuta’s life. The old fantasies are far from history in this humorous and endearing tale of a youngster who just wants to put his shameful past behind him.
