She is a composer who has worked on several video game, movie, and television titles. Her works include composition for the video games Ico for PlayStation 2, Arc the Lad III, and an orchestral arrangement of a Zelda medley for the Wii and Gamecube game The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. In addition to video game music, she has composed music for the Godzilla movies and scores for numerous anime television series, including Fullmetal Alchemist (and the motion picure Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa), Queen Emeraldas and Bounen no Xamdou. She was also the composer for a Japanese stage musical adaptation of the classic Hollywood film Roman Holiday.
Ooshima graduated from the Kunitachi College of Music, Department of Music Composition. Afterwards she began her activities as a composer and arranger while in college, and has been involved in making music for movies, commercials, TV programs, animated features, and ambient music. While in college, she released a symphony entitled "Orasho". Through her masterful manipulation of both orchestras and synthesizers, she has attracted attention from various sectors for creating grandiose, dramatic sounds and beautiful melodies. Her awards include the Mainichi Film Contest Award for Best Music, and the 21st, 24th, 26th, 27th, 29th and 30th Japanese Academy Award for Music, and Jackson Hole Film Festival 2007(USA) Best Composer Award.
