Dorohedoro

“Dorohedoro” is a dark and gritty anime set in a twisted and surreal world, adapted from the manga series by Q Hayashida. It follows the story of Kaiman, a man with a lizard head and amnesia, as he embarks on a journey to uncover the truth about his identity and find the person responsible for turning him into a lizard.

The story takes place in a city called “Hole,” a chaotic and grim place where humans and sorcerers coexist. The sorcerers wield powerful magic and often experiment on the humans living in Hole. One day, Kaiman and his friend Nikaido stumble upon a mysterious man named En, the leader of a powerful gang called “The Cross-Eyes.” En possesses the ability to enter people’s minds and controls a group of powerful sorcerers known as “The Cleaners.”

As Kaiman seeks answers about his transformation, he discovers that he can temporarily transform back into a human by biting the heads of sorcerers. With Nikaido by his side, Kaiman sets out on a quest to find sorcerers and bite their heads, hoping to find the one who transformed him.

Throughout the series, Kaiman encounters various sorcerers, each with their unique abilities and motivations. One of the pivotal events in the story is the revelation that the sorcerer world is divided into factions, with En being a member of “The Family.” The Family consists of several families, each controlling different aspects of the sorcerer society. This revelation leads Kaiman to join forces with a sorcerer named Shin, who is seeking revenge against En for personal reasons.

As Kaiman and Nikaido delve deeper into the mysteries of their world, they uncover dark secrets about the sorcerers and the true nature of their existence. They encounter sorcerers with twisted desires, engage in intense battles, and confront their own past traumas. The anime explores themes of identity, revenge, and the blurred lines between good and evil.
